• Adult beginning/intermediate wheel throwing Evening Classes, 5:30-7:30pm

4 week class session 3

Tuesdays June 11th - July 2nd OR

Wednesdays June 12th - July 3rd

These adult wheel throwing classes are a mixed level class for beginning students and students who have some experience. The classes will focus on centering and basic throwing skills. Clay prep, trimming and glazing will also be covered. My classes are small group classes consisting of 4-5 students. They take place in my studio, #419 at Mainframe Studios 900 Keosauqua Way, Des Moines, IA. All materials, tools, and firing costs are included in the materials fee. Please bring an apron and old towel to class. $155 class + $35 material fee = $190

4 week class session 3:

Thursday June 13th - July 4th 2-4pm (July 4th makeup class July 18th)

This is an adult mixed level wheel class consisting of beginners and people who have taken some classes before. We will cover wheel throwing basics. I will teach you how to prep the clay for the wheel. Students will learn how to center the clay, and basic throwing skills.  Instruction will also include trimming pottery and glazing the pieces. My classes are small group classes consisting of 3-5students. They take place in my studio, #419 at Mainframe Studios 900 Keosauqua Way, Des Moines, IA. All materials, tools, and firing costs are included in the materials fee. Please bring an apron and old towel to class. $155 class + $35 material fee = $190

Try the wheel pottery class

“Try it” classes are a one time, two hour session where Emily will guide you through how to make your own pot on the potters wheel. Emily will demonstrate how to throw on the wheel. Then you will have the opportunity to throw a few pieces yourself. She will trim and glaze them for you at a later date and you will be able to pick up finished pieces around a month later. Emily can accommodate up to 6 people at a time. Please email her for more details, or sign up for one of the sessions I have available. $75 per person.
